The Fundation’s mission is to offer outstanding service in the fields of research and innovation, thereby consolidating its position as a national and international point of reference. Its goal is to contribute towards improving health and quality of life in Catalonia, Spain and worldwide through efficient, professional and responsible work guided by scientific and social criteria.
Actions carried out by the Fundació Clínic are governed by its pursuit of the following goals:

Promote biomedical research and manage and support (including administrative support) scientific activity carried out by researchers at the Hospital Clínic and other organisations with which it works in partnership.

Provide specialist technical training and postgraduate teaching in the health sciences fields.

Propose and implement research protocols and projects within all of the Hospital Clínic's areas of activity and perform appropriate monitoring of the same to ensure compliance and quality.

Perform research and provide health care in other countries, particularly in the Third World, co-operating in their development and thereby fostering solidarity between peoples.

Ensure ethical behaviour and the application of professional and regulatory codes of conduct in biomedical research, as well as ensuring compliance with commitments undertaken by the Fundació and its researchers.

Co-ordinate use of the resources assigned to the Fundació to achieve its purposes, promote co-operation between Research Teams and foster relationships with entities sharing similar aims to the Fundació.

Raise resources to fund the Fundació’s activities.

Administer research funds assigned to the Fundació's safekeeping.

Disseminate information about the scientific results obtained from research and facilitate sharing of knowledge about the advances made.

Participate in all of the spheres related to the Fundació’s mission and goals.
