The Universitat de Barcelona's Animal facility is located on the 6th floor of the Medicine Faculty and covers aproximately an area of 600m2.

The Animal facility complies with all the requirements of the local and national laws on the protection of animals used in experiments and for other scientific ends. Also, the facility has a Ethics Committee for Animal Experiments (CEEA).

 

Duties:

• Provide experimental operating rooms.
• Control of colonies of genetically modified organisms, knock-outs...
• Supervising dead animals picking up process.

• Tissue culture hood (UB).
• Rx Siemens equipment (FC).
• Experimental operating room (UB + FC).
• Surgery magnifying glasses (UB).

• Equipment for transgenics (IDIBAPS).
